Short Description: Prerequisite: Possession of an Active Certified Pistol rating is a perquisite for certification as an NRA CCW instructor. Prior to the CCW instructor training, candidates must first complete and pass the student level NRA CCW Course as per NRA Training Policy.
Description: Course may be presented in three parts: Basic Instructor Training, discipline specific instructor training and the Live-Fire Range instructor training. Instructor Candidates demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and must pass a written instructor certification examination. Additionally, the Instructor Candidates must pass the CCW Instructor Level shooting qualification Course of Fire. The NRA CCW Instructor Course will focus on developing the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for Instructor Candidates to teach carrying and using a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly, and with confidence. As a result of participating in this course, the Instructor Candidate will be able to explain and demonstrate the following: How to apply the NRA Rules for Safe Gun Handling when carrying a concealed firearm, basic principles of concealment, the difference between cover and concealment, drawing from the holster, levels of mental awareness, developing the proper mindset when using a pistol for personal defense, clearing common stoppages, and more. This course is only conducted by NRA Certified CCW Training Counselors.
Prerequisites:
1 - Must complete the NRA CCW Basic for Instructor Candidates.
INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE THE STATE-MANDATED STANDARD VERSION OF NRA CCW CLASS!
2 - Must be NRA certified Pistol Instructor
3 - Complete NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) or have taken within the past two (2) years. Contact us if needed.
4 - Complete instructor candidate questionnaire.

Important Information:
All students must register for class in advance.
Instructor classes All deposits and payments are non-refundable. They however, may be applied to another class within 12 months of the date payment, providing seven (7) day cancellation notice is made prior to the start of the scheduled class. Classes may be rescheduled one (1) time within the 12 month period.
No live ammunition is permitted in the classroom during any class. We provide secure storage for all ammunition and lawfully carried or possessed firearms during classes
A valid current government issued photo identification is required. For persons in possession of pistols, valid New York Pistol License or other authority to possess, must be presented at the beginning of class.
All payments are to be made in advance via credit card / debit card. No processing or other fees apply. Cash is not accepted and there are no cash discounts.
All major credit cards are accepted for payments. No personal checks are accepted.
Students are responsible to pay NRA Instructor Rating Fees.
Instructor Candidate (IC) BRINGS:
* Valid government issued photo identification (i.e., driver license, passport, etc.)
* Valid NY Pistol License or other authority to own and possess pistols in NY (i.e., police officer, armed peace officer, etc.)
* Printed hybrid PowerPoint-lessson plans and appendix for the NRA CCW - participants may choose to use on PDA or Laptop (links to download and printing instructions provided after registering)
* NRA Basic Pistol Class Book & NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home Book
* Favorite pistol (revolver or semiautomatic) - NEVER LEAVE FIREARMS IN VEHICLES - Safe storage provided for lawfully carried loaded firearms in classroom
* Strong side OSWB or ISWB (Outside the Waist Band or Inside The Waist Band) holster, trigger guard must be covered, must have retention (snap, button, internal clip), and must be designed for the firearm
* Sturdy belt for the holster
* Minimum of 3 loading devices (magazines or speedloaders)
* Pouches for the loading devices
* Minimum of 350 rounds of factory ammunition (no-reloads) in caliber of firearm suitable for range use - LIVE AMMUNITION NOT PERMITTED IN CLASSROOM - Safe storage provided for lawfully carried loaded firearms in classroom
* 12 inert (dummy) rounds for pistol (i.e., snap caps) - MUST BE READILY IDENTIFYABLE AS NOT REAL
* Eye and hearing protection
* Optional range / baseball hat
* Optional sunscreen / insect repellant
* Dress appropriately for an outdoor range and weather conditions
* Cover garment, large shirt or jacket to conceal the firearm during exercises
* Bring lunch, snacks and hydration - we work throughout the days

ITAR restricts training given to non-US Persons.
US Persons are US citizens (both natural-born, and naturalized immigrants) and Permanent Resident Aliens
